High school 12-18 years

Did you know that studies show parental expectations of their teens are linked to academic achievement?

Talk to your teen and develop realistic, but high expectations of their academic achievement. Talk positively about it with them and how you believe in their capability to achieve their best.

Engage in your teen’s learning

Being involved in your teen’s learning, both at school and at home, shows you are supporting them in achieving those high expectations.

Encourage them with authentic praise

As your teen achieves their goals and reaches those expectations, encourage them with authentic praise and take pride in their achievements and efforts. Encourage them to take the opportunity to learn from errors, and apply this learning in the future.
